Adventures in getting better...

So here I am back from the dead...Well kind of... I went back to work today...Mondays are just my prep days so no kiddos but by noon I was wiped out...Went to lunch with my 2 besties Jolene and Liz and had a great chat...Then stopped at both the kids schools and picked up paperwork...Had a little visit with Xanders Teacher...UGGGGGG he is struggling to finish any work in class...just sits there and stairs off into space...I know he has ADD like Skyler but I will NEVER put another one of my kids on ADD meds...wow that could be a whole nother blog topic and I don't have the energy to go there tonight...Im going to start going to school with him in the mornings and hanging out for an hour before I go to work...I hope this motivates him to work hard (he loves it when I can come visit his class)...He is a good kid and stays out of trouble but just cant focuses...Awesome news Ash, Hay and Xan get to take swimming lessons from the YMCA starting the 27th for FREE!!!! Can I just say I love Boise Parks and Rec...They have so many amazing programs for our kids...My kids go to an after school program everyday for free that is 2 hrs long...they go on field trips and do community service and just have fun all the time...They love it and I love the opportunities they get from it...They are the only American born children in their group the rest of the kids are refugees so they are getting culture lessons from the other kids they are surrounded by...Skyler wont go to the program because he is lame :) ...he would just rather sit at home and chill...Ok id better get back to the meatloaf cooking in the oven and finish dinner...until my next adventure....

Another Adventure on the couch sick...

Today wasn't much better...Im still feeling like death but it has got to get better from here right?...Please tell me this will get better... I did have a window of about an hour where I didn't feel like I was dying today and I worked on a little project for my wall...ill post pictures when its finished...The kids all had good days at school...but then again that's what they tell me everyday...Skyler got his new bus pass today but missed the bus while getting it...He knew that I didn't have a car to come get him so he walked home...Its only 1.5 miles but it is down a very busy road and it was cold and he only had a light weight hoodie...oh well I walked home from school everyday in the freezing cold bare foot up hill snow over my head...(some of that is true)...Im just glad he made it home safely...and he now knows that if he just waits a half hour then he can catch the next bus...Im going crazy trying to keep the house clean and getting the kids to clean up after them self's...Sky and Ash swear that if I paid them an allowance they would do chores better...IDK maybe its worth a try...Well id better get some sleep while my meds are on board...until next time.....

Blogging from Boise

Ive decided that I really miss blogging and I'm going to start again.  This new blog will be filled with all the adventures we have while we are living here in Boise.  So here is a little of our background story.

A few years back Jeff and I decided that in order for our family to be successful in life, Jeff would need to go back to school and get a degree, that could land him a great job, that in turn would support our family.  So we started a year long process of juggling and struggling to get him into school.  Once he got in he soared through his classes keeping his grades high and working every waking minute on homework.  After a few months I decided that there was no time like the present for me to go back to school so I applied and was excepted into the Early Childhood Education Program.  Jeff finished up his AA degree in December 2012 and was excepted to Boise State to continue his education majoring in Accounting and Finance.  He left for Boise in January 2013.  The kids and I stayed in Spokane where I worked and went to school full time (and juggled 4 kids).  When the kids finished school and I finished spring quarter we packed up and moved to Boise.  I finished my AAS degree in august and landed my "dream" job with Head Start.

Moving to Boise has been the greatest experience our family has had thus far.  The kids are happy in school,  I mostly love my job and Jeff is excelling in school (and working full time at a job he HATES!!!).  We are finding our nitch in this amazing city.  It is clean and family friendly and I love the people I have met.  The parks are beautiful and we feel safe taking the kids to play.  It has also been so fun getting to know Jeff's "Pixler" family better and to spend time with them.  I love Boise and what it has to offer our family.

And so our Boise adventure begins...
